One of the original creators behind the famous ice cream brand Ben and Jerry's has claimed how parent company the multinational conglomerate stopped the launch for an innovative Palestine-themed ice cream flavor.

Ben Cohen, that established the business with Jerry Greenfield, announced how he plans to personally create this new product within a personal collection highlighting causes Ben & Jerry's has been barred from speaking out about.

Longstanding Dispute Involving Creators and Corporate Owner

The recent announcement escalates the continuing conflict among the internationally recognized ice cream maker with its corporate parent, the British consumer goods giant that acquired the ice cream brand since 2000.

Both founders maintain how the parent company and its ice cream arm the Magnum brand improperly prevented their company from "maintaining its activist principles".

The Fruit Sorbet as a Symbol of Support

The entrepreneur announced through an Instagram video that he's developing an innovative watermelon-based sorbet, requesting consumer ideas for naming options plus additional components.

“I'm accomplishing what they were prevented from doing,” Mr. Cohen stated from his kitchen. “I'm creating a watermelon-based frozen dessert that advocates for lasting ceasefire for Palestinians while demanding addressing the harm that was done there.”

This particular fruit has emerged as a symbol of support for Palestinians due to its coloration, that closely resemble the colors in the Palestinian flag – red, green, black and white.

Previous Social Engagement plus Current Developments

Several years ago, Ben & Jerry's ceased sales of their merchandise in territories under Israeli control, resulting in Unilever transferring the Israeli operation over to a local licensee, thereby permitting continued sales in the occupied West Bank.

This upcoming product line will be developed under Ben's Best, the socially conscious dessert company that was first created several years back for endorsing former US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders with the product "Bernie's Back".

Management Shifts plus Future Plans

The founder indicated how he plans to develop other ice cream flavors focusing on concerns that Ben & Jerry's was silenced from speaking about openly due to Unilever.

This development comes after partner Jerry Greenfield resigned from the company in September, following decades with the organization, mentioning worries regarding how its independence had been compromised after corporate moves to restrict its social activism.

At that time, Ben Cohen commented how "Jerry has strong compassion and this conflict with our parent company was breaking it."

"My heart compels me to keep working within the organization to fight for corporate autonomy so that the company can actualise the social mission, the values which established its foundation while upholding for over 40 years," he explained to media outlets.
