Brian Eno Urges Support to Send Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort seeks to send support to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The track was produced after a solidarity show held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of talented individuals. The single features a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a spokesperson commented. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the region was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a few million won't make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
