Netflix Chooses Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

The platform declared recently that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bentham. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and cartoon version.

The new cast member will work alongside a number of recently announced actors set to bring the organization to life, such as head the main antagonist, played by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Though this character is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
