Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was gunned down in the central business district on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the forty-year-old media personality was confronted by a trio of assailants, one of whom began shooting at him before escaping on foot.

Authorities revealed that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a premises close to the city center landmark.

"Authorities believe the victim was approached by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," an official report confirmed.

Security camera video reportedly depicted a individual with dreadlocks and dressed in what appeared to be a security uniform opening fire on Stock before making his escape.

The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but fell down across the street.

Police added that Stock had an unused firearm and no items were stolen during the incident.

Key evidence, like cartridges, were recovered from the crime scene.

Officials are asking anyone who saw the event who may have have information to contact them.

"Evidence suggests they covered significant ground after the attack, and officers have been following their trail to determine their location," added an official.
